Having completed his Biomedical Chemistry degree in Sheffield and PGCE in Sciences at the University of Huddersfield, Andrew has a wealth of teaching experience securing his first teaching position in 1999 as a Newly Qualified Teacher. Andrew was driven and determined to be part of the decision making processes within a school setting, with a passion for ensuring the learning experience for all students has a lasting and positive difference to their life chances. Throughout his career Andrew has held a range of leadership roles; the knowledge and experience from these have enabled him to forge then exhibit his genuine passion for ensuring every student, regardless of background or starting point, has high aspirations and achieves their full potential by developing their qualities and skills to prepare them for employment or further and higher education.
In 2013 Andrew became a Vice Principal – Deep Experience as part of the Senior Leadership Team at Outwood Academy Foxhills in Scunthorpe where he worked as part of the Leadership Team to transform this academy from an Ofsted Special Measures rating to Good with Outstanding Leadership in 2015. It was in this year that Andrew became a Principal within the Outwood Grange Family of School for whom he worked in the opening and leadership of the Humber UTC.
Being born and raised in Sheffield, Andrew was excited and proud to be appointed Principal at Outwood Academy City in June 2017 and looks forward to embedding his principles to ensure the best educational provision for the students of this academy to make them highly employable individuals and respectable members of the local and wider community.
