Having completed a mathematics degree at University of Sheffield, Lucy completed a PGCE (secondary mathematics) at Sheffield Hallam University in 1994. She has taught in a wide range of schools across South Yorkshire, gaining a wealth of teaching experience and was an Advanced skills teacher, working across Doncaster between 2003 and 2010. Lucy has held a range of leadership roles and was appointed Assistant Principal at Outwood Academy Newbold in 2014 where she was responsible for Deep Learning. She has also worked at Outwood Academy Valley as an Assistant Principal and was very proud to be part of the leadership team when the school was rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted in 2017.
Throughout her career, Lucy has always believed that every student, whatever their background, should always achieve their full potential. She believes that teachers have the duty to make sure all children maximise their life chances.
Lucy is very excited and proud to be appointed Associate Vice Principal at Outwood Academy City from September 2017. She is passionate about teaching and learning and believes that every student deserves access to the very best teaching in every classroom. She feels it is a privilege to lead Deep Learning at Outwood Academy City and is looking forward to working with this incredible and very special community, embedding her principles to ensure the best educational provision for all students.
